VTech has a new innovative, cutting-edge multifunctional learning pad for children called the VTech Innopad. Update: Vtech as changed the name of this product to the VTech InnoTab which was known as the VTech Innopad when this article was written. . The Innopad is just like a iPad and it was first unveiled at the 2011 International New York Toy Fair. With the pervasiveness of touchscreen technology and the new trend and user adoption of ultra-cool tablets it only made sense to release a device like the Innopad. The device will feature an wide array of features and functionality, including learning and creative activities.

The VTech Innopad integrates state-of-the-art technology. Like the iPad, this device has an intuitive touchscreen interface and a motion sensor. The user interface is very user-friendly. When the device is reoriented, the screen automatically reorients the screen from landscape to portrait mode and vice versa.

The VTech Innopad will be released Fall 2011 and it is designed for kids ages 4 - 9. It is expected to be released sometime in September 2011. The VTech Innopad is expected to be a hot toy for Christmas 2011.

VTech's Innopad also has a slew of other notable features. With the Notes app, kids can jot down notes and reminders. A convenient Calendar is also included as part of this gadget. There also is a built-in Globe app for discovering new cities around the world and learning the U.S. states. The Innopad even has a built-in clock and calculator. In addition, there is a Friends app but not much has been disclosed regarding this feature.
